Tourism Minister visits Streetculture 3.0 Exhibition

In a celebration of urban vibrancy and local artistic expression, Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury inspected the “Streetculture 3.0” exhibition at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Monday. Sharing his experience on social media, Chowdhury mentioned that street culture encompasses much more than just the physical streets-it reflects the diverse lifestyles, traditions, art, fashion, and social practices that develop around urban spaces. Street culture is a dynamic socio-cultural context that reflects both the history and the contemporary life of a place. It’s a mirror to the vibrancy, resilience, and creativity of everyday people and how they express themselves artistically and socially, he noted. The minister lauded the organizers for bringing such an initiative to the forefront, saying that streets are not merely public spaces but social hubs where local communities form their own rhythm and order. “Streetculture 3.0”, a collaborative initiative between Vision Art, Tripura Tourism, and the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, designed to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of street photography and the cultural narratives embedded within it. Curated by Rajeeb Debnath and Subhrajit Deb, the exhibition featured over 150 photographs and artworks, meticulously arranged into six sections, each exploring a unique theme. Each section evidently offered a different perspective on the ways in which streets serve as canvases for human emotion, creativity, and social commentary.
